Habitat for Humanity

We are a people of the Lord who are very intentional about making a difference in the world. In a world where homelessness exists it is our joy to swing a hammer from time to time with Habitat for Humanity. As a congregation we also support Habitat as one of our benevolences.

This past week we received a thank you from Barbara Dunn the Executive Director of the Paterson Habitat. In her letter she wrote, “Your support helped keep us moving ahead this past year, helping 15 low-income working families make a big move into home ownership” Brothers and sisters, that’s faith making a real-life, real-world difference in people’s lives!

Thank you all! -Pastor Richard

Copies of HO-HO-KUSOPOLY, being produced as a fundraiser by The Community Church of Ho-Ho-Kus, are now being printed. Debbie Saunders, who coordinated this local adaptation of the classic board game said, “There’s a lot of buzz and excitement about the game! Pre-orders of this special, limited edition have already been selling much faster than we anticipated. We’ve been pleased and amazed by how much the community has got behind this project", said Saunders. "We’ve seen proofs of the game and it looks fabulous. I think everyone will be thrilled when they see the finished result,” she added.
The HO-HO-KUSOPOLY game will look much like its popular inspiration, but instead of the familiar Atlantic City streets, it will consist of Ho-Ho-Kus properties and people. Copies of HO-HO-KUSOPOLY will be available in August but pre-sales for the game are already being taken to ensure that everyone who wants one can buy one. Games cost $25 each. “We anticipate that everyone who is featured on the board will want to buy a copy for themselves,” said Debbie Saunders. “But games also make great gifts for family members who have moved out of the area, and are perfect for local businesses to offer as gifts to clients or to new residents.”

Pre-orders are being taken at The Community Church on Warren Avenue, Ho-Ho-Kus (tel: (201) 445-6310.
